Pharrell Williams Faces Legal Dispute with Pink Over “P.Inc” Trademark

Pharrell Williams is currently embroiled in a legal battle with Pink over the trademark for the term “P.Inc.” Pink’s company, Lefty Paw Print, filed a legal action against Pharrell’s PW IP Holdings, claiming that the trademark is too similar to her stage name and could cause confusion among consumers.

This dispute comes on the heels of another legal issue for Pharrell, as Victoria’s Secret also filed a case against him over the use of the word “Pink” in his trademark application. The lingerie company argued that consumers could be misled by the similarity between their “Victoria’s Secret PINK” and Pharrell’s “P.Inc” marks.

This is not the only legal challenge Pharrell is facing, as his longtime friend and collaborator Chad Hugo recently filed a trademark action over the name of their production group, The Neptunes. Hugo accused Pharrell of trying to claim sole ownership of the name rights for The Neptunes, alleging fraud and bad faith on Pharrell’s part.

In response to Hugo’s legal action, a representative for Pharrell stated that they have offered to share ownership and administration of the trademark with Hugo, and that their goal is to prevent a third party from obtaining the trademark. The representative expressed surprise at Hugo’s legal action and reiterated their willingness to work together on the trademark issue.

The legal disputes surrounding Pharrell’s trademarks highlight the complexities and challenges of protecting intellectual property in the music industry. It remains to be seen how these legal battles will unfold and whether Pharrell will be able to resolve them amicably with Pink and Hugo.
