Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo, the dynamic duo behind The Neptunes, are now embroiled in a legal battle over the group’s name. The dispute stems from Williams’ alleged attempt to secure sole control over the trademarks associated with The Neptunes, a move that Hugo’s attorneys claim violates their longstanding agreement to split everything equally.
The Neptunes, known for producing numerous chart-topping hits in the early 2000s, have been a powerhouse in the music industry for over three decades. However, the recent legal action filed by Hugo’s attorneys accuses Williams of committing fraud and acting in bad faith by excluding Hugo from the trademark applications.
