With a focus on assisting clients with a wide variety of claims arising from building and infrastructure projects, the team can handle everything from payment disputes to RAAC issues and cladding defects.
Michael Collins, who brings 15 years of experience in dispute resolution, has represented a range of clients in construction projects, including contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, consultants, public bodies, and insurers. As a Solicitor Advocate, he has appeared in both the Sheriff Court and Court of Session, as well as in adjudication and mediation.
Mary Frances O’Neill, with extensive experience in major infrastructure projects, litigation, dispute resolution, and project management, adds valuable insight from her previous roles in the public sector.
In a statement, Michael Collins highlighted the challenges faced by the construction industry during the pandemic and emphasized the team’s understanding of the sector’s difficulties and opportunities. He also emphasized the team’s strengths in legal expertise, commercial awareness, and providing fast, comprehensive advice.
Mary Frances O’Neill echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the team’s strategic and holistic approach to disputes, tailored to each client’s priorities and risk appetite.
Fraser Geddes, chair at Anderson Strathern, praised the new team’s talent and reputation, noting that their addition will enhance the firm’s ability to support construction sector clients with both non-contentious and contentious issues, ultimately driving business growth in the coming months.
