Fifty Fifty K-pop Girl Group Set to Return in September with Keena and New Members
Fifty Fifty, the K-pop girl group that took the world by storm with their hit song “Cupid” in 2022, is set to make a comeback in September as a rebranded five-member group. This news comes after a tumultuous year filled with legal disputes and member changes within the group’s agency, Attrakt.
Last year, the original members of Fifty Fifty – Sio, Saena, Aran, and Keena – filed for an injunction to suspend their contracts with Attrakt, citing financial discrepancies and lack of care for their well-being. While the Seoul Central District Court denied their injunction and subsequent appeal, Keena chose to return to Attrakt, leading to the termination of contracts with the remaining trio.
Attrakt then filed a lawsuit seeking 13 billion won against the former members and their supporters, including producer SIAHN, known for the group’s hit song “Cupid.” Despite these legal battles, Attrakt has announced the addition of four new members to the group, chosen through closed auditions, alongside Keena.
The label expressed their gratitude to fans for their support during this challenging time and promised to deliver high-quality music and performances with the new lineup. Fifty Fifty’s rise to fame was swift, with “Cupid” gaining international recognition and even landing on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the U.S. and the Official Singles chart in the U.K.
Despite the setbacks, Attrakt secured an investment last August and began the search for new members to revamp Fifty Fifty. With plans to release a new song and engage in diverse promotional activities, the group is determined to reclaim their status as one of the best K-pop girl groups in the industry.
