Dr. Rajendra Prasad National Law University (RPNLU) has kicked off its highly anticipated online International Workshop on ‘Integrated Legal Education: Transforming Approaches to Pedagogy and Research in Law.’ The six-day virtual workshop, running from July 3 to July 7, 2024, aims to revolutionize teaching techniques and strategies tailored for integrated legal education.

With 14 technical sessions covering essential topics for enhancing participants’ abilities in law-teaching pedagogy, the workshop offers innovative strategies to elevate legal education. One of the key focuses is on integrating technology into law teaching, ensuring educators are well-prepared for the digital age.

The workshop boasts a lineup of distinguished speakers from globally renowned institutions, including the Supreme Court of Hawaii, USA; University of Bradford, United Kingdom; University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada; University of Colombo, Sri Lanka; and University of Kathmandu, Nepal. Additionally, speakers from eminent Indian institutions, such as the Vice Chancellor of National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore, are set to share their expertise, promising invaluable insights and scholarship for all attendees.

The inaugural session of the workshop featured Honorable Mr. Justice Arun Bhansali, Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court, and Honorable Mr. Justice Manoj Kumar Gupta, Judge of the Allahabad High Court, as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour, respectively. Sr. Prof. Usha Tandon, Vice-Chancellor of RPNLU, highlighted the workshop’s significance by emphasizing the various themes and topics covered.

Honorable Chief Justice Bhansali stressed the crucial role of integrated legal education in shaping the future of law professionals and the legal system. He underscored the importance of innovative teaching techniques tailored for integrated legal education and the workshop’s focus on student-centered learning approaches.

Honorable Justice Gupta emphasized the need for innovative teaching methodologies to keep legal education relevant in the digital age. He highlighted the role of teachers in guiding students from ignorance to enlightenment, emphasizing the importance of educators in the learning process.

The workshop also featured sessions by Prof. Sudhir Krishnaswamy from NLSIU, Bangalore, and Prof. Engobo Emeseh from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom, who shared their insights on interdisciplinary methods in legal education and sustainable development, respectively.
